Jazz Band Alumni Statement

Being a part of the 91´«Ã½ Jazz band was a very beneficial and exciting experience. I always looked forward to going to practice and it would be the highlight of my week. This was the tightest, most professional band I had the pleasure of working with. We always had this certain drive and ambition during rehearsal; we all wanted to be a great, professional-sounding band. I learned how important it is to not just listen and focus on my own playing, but everyone playing around me in order to add to the band as a whole. I had no experience with jazz improvisation until Dave (Marowitz) worked with me. By the end of the semester, I was able to perform confidently at our gigs and my musicianship improved greatly. Thanks to being apart of the jazz band, I was able to meet such talented individuals and have many enjoyable moments to look back on. “
